Emma
is a lovely 13 year old who recently celebrated her Bat Mitzvah. Emma
and her mom came to us with the seed of an idea -- Emma loves couture
fashion and she wanted to use the colors pink and brown for a theme
for her celebration. Well, to say the least, the ideas flew
and we ended up creating "Emma Couture."
We decided that Emma would be a celebrity fashion designer and the
party would be like a fashion show to introduce her new line. From
there, we created a true "red carpet" event. A white dance
floor was installed with a catwalk on either end. On one side we added
a flat screen TV that showed fashion footage from the last Fashion
Week in New York, while the other side ended in the Lounge. The entrances
to each room were surrounded by metal "Rock n Roll" trussing,
candle walls, custom draperies, and of course pink lighting. The lounge
-- complete with furniture, custom pillows, stand up tables, and a
photo booth -- was a great place for kids and adults alike. In addition
to the Lounge, the kids had their own room to enjoy dinner. Tables
were dressed with beautiful pink Paillettes linen with chocolate brown
jewelry boxes as centerpieces, and chairs alternated between chocolate
and fuchsia suede.
The
adults also got to enjoy the event with ringside seats far enough
away to have a more adult experience but close enough not to miss
a thing. We dressed their tables with soft pink crinkle linens and
added chocolate brown Chivari chairs. Flowers in all shades of pink
were added on top of brown iron stands. The country club staff all
wore pink beefy t shirts with our "Emma Couture" logo silk
screened on the front, while the valet parking staff wore polo shirts
with Emma's logo embroidered on them and greeted arriving guests by
saying,
'Welcome
to Emma Couture." Guests "checked in" with our staff
and picked up their custom "Emma Couture" lanyard instead
of a place card. Once they picked up their lanyard, guests passed
the red carpet and entered the foyer for cocktails. As with most Bar
or Bat Mitzvahs, we knew we would have lots of young people who joined
the festivities solo, so the question was 'How do we move 50 kids
from the Temple to the country club safely?" Why in a Starline
tour bus of course - double decker with an open top! And custom cameras
with the "Emma Couture" logo documented the journey.
We
timed the arrival of the bus with all of Emma's friends to coincide
with Emma and her father pulling up in a beautiful black Ferrari.
The kids were off-loaded and waiting for Emma's grand entrance, and
the Ferrari pulled up to the cheers and shouts of all of Emma's friends.
"Paparazzi" jostled one another for a better picture - and
with each rev of the engine, the excitement of the crowd grew until
Emma finally arrived to a deafening roar worthy of the Jonas Brothers!
Randy, our DJ, and JT, our videographer, conducted a red carpet interview
for Emma TV and our star was on her way! She stopped just long enough
to greet some fans and pose in front of her publicity wall. All in
all, it turned out to be a great night for everyone
. and we're
already thinking about how we can top it when Emma's sister Allie
celebrates her Bat Mitzvah in a couple of years.
